A new business, started during the COVID-19 pandemic, is thriving.

It was a privilege to be on hand for the opening of Matthew’s Catering’s new kitchen in Grandview, Mo.

A new business story is a success story in and of itself. But Matthew’s, owned by Matt Cross, was launched near the beginning of the 2020 pandemic. That meant an event-intensive business immediately faced a regulatory roadblock.

Matt, however, did not give up. He adapted and began home meal deliveries and anything else he could offer. Whether it was box lunches for businesses (because many restaurants were closed) or chicken fried steak for the neighborhood, Matt pushed through.

That makes the victory even sweeter. We’ll help celebrate with photos we took at the opening of Matthew’s kitchen in September.
